CHIEF CONSTABLES CUP
New Name on Trophy
This years competition was held at Tally Ho on Sunday 6th August. The Green and weather were good and the players took to the field in two Round Robin groups.
Dave Scriven won all three of his opening games in Group 1, defeating Peter Cookson who came 2nd . Dave continued his run and came out victorious in his semi-final against Steve Tate.(2nd in group 2)
Peter played the winner of Group 2, Andy Hinton, coming out on top. This victory set him up for the final against Dave Scriven. Despite Dave's earlier success Peter found a 'mark' and reversed the earlier
result against Dave and is now the holder of the Chief Constables Cup. A new and well deserved name on the trophy.
Refreshments followed the competition and many thanks to the Social Club for their hospitality which enables the competitors to go home in good humour following a long days bowling.
Selection for the PSUK Finals to be held at Derby on Thursday 24th August is taking place. Nominations will be announced soon.
