The Force walking club has been running for the last 6 years originally as the Walsall Walking club.
The club is an eclectic bunch of people from all backgrounds, departments and fitness levels. We currently have over 90 members We have more women than men and more police staff than officers. Please don’t be discouraged if you think your fitness isn’t up to it, as we will provide as much supported as possible, including reducing distances and looking at alternative routes and some training walks. It is a good opportunity if you are looking to get fit.
We do on average 7 walks a year, two of which tend to be overnighters. Some of the walks that we have done, include Hadrian’s Wall, 3 peaks, Welsh 3000, Lake District, Pembrokeshire, Cornwall, Peak district, Cannock Chase to name a few. We plan the routes , sort the transport(minibus) and if you are a member of the sports and social ( which we would encourage you to join ) the cost is minimal. All you need to do is turn up on the day.
All dates for the walks are set 12 months in advance and sent to members in January so leave can be booked well in advance if required.
