On Saturday 1st February 2020, West Midlands Police will be collaborating with Parkrun – Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham, in an initiative called – The Blue Light Takeover.
Parkrun is a free weekly timed 5k running event which takes place worldwide every Saturday. All officers and staff and members of the WMP Sports & Wellbeing Association are encouraged to get involved regardless of if you wish to run, walk, jog, volunteer or just spectate.
What do I need to do to join in?
All you’ll need to do is register on the Parkrun website www.parkrun.org.uk and set your running club to WMP SPORTS & WELLBEING.
You will receive a barcode that you will need to print and bring with you so you can receive an official finishing time if you are running and credits if you are volunteering.

Those taking part in the run will need to arrive at the Band Stand in Cannon Hill Park by 8:45am for a safety briefing from the Race Director, volunteers will need to arrive at the Band Stand no later than 8:30am.
